This collection highlights an extraordinary roster of talent, featuring Charles Gerhardt leading the National Philharmonic Orchestra in a rousing rendition of Wagner’s “Die Walkure: Ride Of The Valkyries”, and the Bruckner Orchestra Linz delivering the sheer orchestral power required for Holst’s “Mars” and Strauss’s “An Der Schönen Blauen Donau”. The set also features the intricate chamber work of the Connecticut Early Music Festival Ensemble under Igor Kipnis, and the sultry, evocative saxophone of Lawrence Feldman with Orquesta Nova. For a truly immersive experience, organist Gregory D’Agostino performs Bach’s „Toccata And Fugue” at Manhattan’s Church of St. Paul the Apostle, captured via Chesky’s proprietary Binaural+ process to provide a lifelike presence.
