Stanley Turrentine became known for blues-tinged soul jazz. However, the tenor saxophonist’s first Blue Note recording as a leader, from 1960, contains more traditional bop – which is no bad thing. Accompanied by Horace Parlan, George Tucker and Al Harewood, Turrentine plays a groovy session that provides the perfect stage for his clear, powerful saxophone. Remastering for XRCD24 was handled by Alan Yoshida.
We recommend the use of „L’Art du Son” CD/DVD conditioner for even more sonic improvement.
