Son House – The Legendary Father Of Folk Blues (SACD hibrid)

Before a group of young blues lovers rediscovered him in 1964, Son House was already legendary for his influence on blues greats such as Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters, as well as for some live recordings made by music researcher and collector Alan Lomax for the Library of Congress in 1941 and 1942. After a good twenty years in a deep musical slumber, House had to rework his repertoire of songs before he was able to record the LP ‘Father of the Delta Blues’ for Columbia Records in 1965. With The Legendary Father Of Folk Blues, Analogue Productions now presents this important and, according to Living Blues Magazine, „essential recording by one of the greatest blues musicians who ever lived” in unprecedented sound quality.

For the SACD reissue, Ryan Smith of Sterling Sound remastered the recordings from the original master tapes.

We recommend the use of „L’Art du Son” CD/DVD conditioner for even more sonic improvement.
