Paul Goodwin & Minnesota Orchestra / Minnesota Chorale – Tavener: Ikon of Eros (HDCD)

One of the most acclaimed contemporary composers, Sir John Tavener has earned a large worldwide fan base with the combination of spiritual mysticism, reverent longing and passion that permeates his music. This work was originally commissioned for Jorja Fleezanis, concertmaster of the Minnesota Orchestra on the occasion of its centennial. The music appeals to the need for love, peace and transcendence that unites all faiths. Prof. Keith Johnson’s recording captures the all-enveloping sound of the orchestra, choir, and soloists at the Cathedral of Saint Paul (Minnesota) so amazingly well that it gives the listener a transcendental musical and sonic experience.

Released in 2003.

We recommend the use of „L’Art du Son” CD/DVD conditioner for even more sonic improvement.
