Patsy Cline – Greatest Hits (Vinil 180g, LP dublu)

One thing must be said: The Decca label had no luck with airplane travel. Within only four years, they lost Buddy Holly and also Patsy Cline to the means of transportation. In 1973, ten years after her death, Cline became the first woman elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame. Now, Cline’s music is better described as „country-esque.” Owen Bradley, who took his first steps as a producer with the singer, underscored her loud, emotionally charged vocals with lush, sophisticated arrangements, setting the standard for the „Nashville sound.” But that doesn’t detract from the quality – on the contrary. The passage of time only makes it clearer how brilliantly the musical recipe works.

Country titles were preferably released as singles in the 1960s. Patsy Cline’s 1967 Greatest Hits album brings together a dozen of her biggest hits, including „Walkin’ After Midnight,” „Sweet Dreams (Of You),” „Crazy” and „I Fall To Pieces.” Before Shania Twain combined country and pop in the 1990s, this album was the best-selling country album by a female artist for a very long time.

Remastered at Sterling Sound’s studios, the ¼-inch master tapes were used and recorded directly, without equalizers and bypassing the console. This means wonderful transparency with only minimal tape artifacts.

We recommend the use of „L’Art du Son” LP cleaner to wet wash your vinyl. Even new records of high quality production will benefit from this.
