Norah Jones’ fourth album was released in November 2009, and the world was expecting another album of Christmastime jazz. They were completely wrong. Jones emancipates herself from the cuddly genre and offers 13 self-penned songs with much more modern sounds. There is a beat, electric guitars and an electric Wurlitzer piano. What hasn’t changed is Jones’ voice, which remains as ingratiating as ever, and her ability to paint a musical picture. Not a rock album, but a step out of the genre – and highly praised by the critics.
This new release has been remixed by Kevin Gray of Cohearent Audio and is issued as a Hybrid SACD. The new sound is quieter and more balanced, revealing previously hidden details.
We recommend the use of „L’Art du Son” CD/DVD conditioner for even more sonic improvement.
