The title song from the film “Ben” – “Ben’s Theme” – reached number one on the U.S. charts seven months after Michael Jackson’s debut album “Got To Be There” was released. In the story, in which a sick boy befriends a rat shunned by the villagers, Michael Jackson, who loved this film dearly, was able to naturally identify with the character. Although he was only 13 years old at the time of its release, he cemented his status as a singer with his second album, which was released on August 4, 1972, by Motown Records. “Ben” was produced by Hal Davis and recorded between November 1971 and February 1972 at Motown Recording Studios in Hollywood, California.
Universal Music Japan is now presenting a strictly limited LP reissue of “Ben” – pressed on high-quality, clear light blue 180-gram vinyl (33 RPM). The album comes with an OBI strip and contains a booklet including liner notes and lyrics.
We recommend the use of „L’Art du Son” LP cleaner to wet wash your vinyl. Even new records of high quality production will benefit from this.
