Konrad Paszkudzki Trio – Puttin’ On The Ritz: Irving Berlin Songbook (Vinil 180g, LP dublu)

The music of the Konrad Paszkudzki Trio – Konrad Paszkudzki on piano, Dylan Shamat on bass, and Dag Markhus on drums – which was founded in Miami, took its first steps in L.A., and finally came into its own in New York City, can be summed up in two words: atmosphere and swing. Their sound is classic yet timeless in its expression and delights both passionate jazz lovers and admirers of the Tin Pan Alley tradition. This album focuses on standards from the “Great American Songbook.” Without resorting to trite gimmicks or obvious showmanship, the trio remains true to the original musical and lyrical content of the material, emphasizing melodic elegance and spirited vitality. The influence of Nelson Riddle, Oscar Peterson, Erroll Garner, and Ahmad Jamal is palpable and audible, yet never clumsily imitated. Direct, simple, and yet fascinating, they improvise solo narratives with a nonchalant grace that invites you to tap your foot along. There is something modest about this approach, yet the attitude with which the music is presented speaks of self-assured passion. The message they convey comes across flawlessly – the Konrad Paszkudzki Trio is a trailblazer in today’s world of swinging, sophisticated jazz.

“Puttin’ On The Ritz: Irving Berlin Songbook” was recorded on August 27 and September 16, 2025, at Trading 8s Recording Studio in Paramus, New Jersey, USA, and mixed and mastered by legendary sound engineer Tetsuo Hara.

Venus Records was founded in Japan in 1992 by Tetsuo Hara, who had previously worked as a producer for RCA Victor. The renowned label uses a special mastering process called “Hyper Magnum Sound,” which produces a powerful, dynamic sound and is highly regarded by audiophiles worldwide. A quick note: Venus LPs are pressed only once. Once the run is sold out, the title is removed from the catalog and will not be reissued. Collectors should therefore not wait too long to place their orders: the releases from the “Venus Masterpiece Collection” are extremely popular!

We recommend the use of „L’Art du Son” LP cleaner to wet wash your vinyl. Even new records of high quality production will benefit from this.
