Elvis Presley – Stereo ’57 (Essential Elvis Volume 2) (SACD hibrid)

That „Stereo `57 – Essential Elvis Volume 2” could be released at all is a miracle. Sound engineer Thorne Nogar, who had a 2-track tape running for a backup copy during the recordings with the „King”, marked the tapes with the note „Delete” and gave them to his colleague Bones Howe. He, however, kept them and put them in a locker. And here they are: 20 takes with numerous slips and new beginnings, a laughing and joking Elvis Presley and musicians who gradually approach their material.

In the course of the recording process, the arrangements gain contour and Elvis gains confidence. He interprets the songs with enthusiasm, shows the way in a charming way and at the same time screws up the recordings together with the band members, just to have fun with them about the mistakes. Remastered at Sterling Sound’s studios, the recordings appear in stunning clarity on hybrid SACD. The accompanying booklet includes liner notes by Roy Carr (New Musical Express) in addition to information on the origin of the tapes.

We recommend the use of „L’Art du Son” CD/DVD conditioner for even more sonic improvement.
