Eddie Higgins Trio – Portraits of Love (Vinil 180g, LP dublu)

With his numerous albums released on Venus Records, Eddie Higgins has established himself as one of Japan’s most renowned jazz musicians. Higgins, who passed away in 2009, was one of those rare pianists who knew exactly where on the keyboard to find the best chords needed to tell the story he wanted to tell. He also knew how to cover the entire ivory keyboard without hammering the keys or overdoing it. The man who played and recorded with many of jazz’s greatest names, including Coleman Hawkins, Jack Teagarden, Stan Getz, Dizzy Gillespie, and Wayne Shorter, is accompanied on this acclaimed album – whose gentle rhythms invite both relaxation and romantic dancing – by Jay Leonhart on bass and Joe Ascione on drums.

“Portraits Of Love” was recorded on November 6 and 7, 2008, at Clinton Studio “A” in New York and produced by legendary sound engineers Tetsuo Hara and Todd Barkan.

Strictly limited double LP. The records are cut at 33 RPM and pressed on 180-gram Vinyl.

Venus Records was founded in Japan in 1992 by Tetsuo Hara, who had previously worked as a producer for RCA Victor. The renowned label uses a special mastering process called “Hyper Magnum Sound,” which produces a powerful, dynamic sound and is highly regarded by audiophiles worldwide. A quick note: Venus LPs are pressed only once. Once the run is sold out, the title is removed from the catalog and will not be reissued. Collectors should therefore not wait too long to place their orders: the releases from the “Venus Masterpiece Collection” are extremely popular!

We recommend the use of „L’Art du Son” LP cleaner to wet wash your vinyl. Even new records of high quality production will benefit from this.
