Dr. John – Dr. John’s Gumbo (Vinil 180g, LP)

New Orleans-born singer and pianist Dr. John’s fifth album, „Dr. John’s Gumbo,” is a tribute to the music of his hometown. Released in 1972, John, also known as „Night Tripper,” performs a collection of New Orleans classics on this concept album, such as „Iko Iko,” „Junko Partner” and „Stack-O-Lee.” But also contemporary R&B songs written or performed by Huey Piano Smith and Earl King like „Blow Wind Blow” or „Those Lonely Lonely Nights” can be found in this lively set. Included in the Top 500 Best Albums by „Rolling Stone”, the record, named after a diversely flavored stew from the regional cuisine of the Mississippi area (the gumbo), shows a broad, tasteful reflection of the vibes from the swamp area. A delicious album with soul!We recommend the use of „L’Art du Son” LP cleaner to wet wash your vinyl. Even new records of high quality production will benefit from this.
