Bob Kindred Quartet – Blue Moon (Vinil 180g, LP dublu)

The American Robert Hamilton “Bob” Kindred was a truly wonderful tenor saxophonist, clarinetist, and flutist. He toured with soul jazz musicians such as Groove Holmes, Charles Earland, and Jimmy McGriff before joining the Glenn Miller Band and becoming a soloist with Woody Herman, with whom he performed at Carnegie Hall in New York in 1975. In the early 1980s, he collaborated with Hank Jones, Clark Terry, Roy Eldridge, Toots Thielemans, Shirley Scott, and Mel Lewis, among others. For their second release on Venus, Bob Kindred and his band decided to put together a collection of Latin music, mostly boleros. The powerful and sultry sound of Kindred’s tenor sax is a perfect match for this mysterious and romantic music. The music transports the listener to a steamy bar in a subtropical country in Latin America. On “Blue Moon” you can almost feel the hot, humid air.

“Blue Moon” was recorded on February 26 and 27, 2004, at Avatar Studio in New York and produced by legendary sound engineer Tetsuo Hara.

Strictly limited double LP. The records are cut at 33 RPM and pressed on 180-gram Vinyl.
