Billy Joel – 52nd Street (SACD hibrid)

This Billy Joel from 1978 can be approached excellently via numbers. Eight weeks at number 1 on the charts in the USA. Two million copies sold after only one month. Three hit single releases and finally the Grammy for Best Album of the Year. The winning formula is a mix of Broadway entertainment, jazz and rock influences in the style of Donald Fagen, which is processed by producer Phil Ramone into a homogeneous mixture without weaknesses.

Billy Joel was to become the most successful musician of the late 70s. While critics accused him of ingratiating himself with the public. This ingratiation produced hits like Big Shot and My Life on this album. The MFSL re-mastering was done by Rob LoVerde on the Gain2 system and impresses with enormous naturalness. You simply have the feeling to listen to a master tape and fortunately there are no superficial effects.

The MFSL Re-Issue comes in a mini LP cover with consecutive serial number and lyric book.

We recommend the use of „L’Art du Son” CD/DVD conditioner for even more sonic improvement.
