Audiophile Percussion + (CD)

“Audiophile Percussion +” by 2xHD is a must-have for every audiophile. This collection offers a captivating, impressive listening experience – based on a fully analog master and converted to ultra-high-resolution DXD for exceptional clarity and presence. From pop and rock to Latin and classical, this explosive compilation covers a rich spectrum of grooves, driven by rhythm in all its facets: pulse, tempo, accents, dynamics, texture, and timbre. Performed with razor-sharp precision and electrifying energy by the Musicus Percussion Ensemble and accompanied by guest multi-instrumentalist Robert Len, “Audiophile Percussion +” sets a new sonic standard.

For the 2xHD mastering of the recording on this album, the original 1/4″, 15 ips CCIR master tapes were played on a Nagra-T modified with high-end tube playback electronics, wired with OCC silver cable from the playback head directly to a Telefunken EF806 tube. The Nagra T has one of the best transports ever made with four direct drive motors and two pinch rollers.

René Laflamme, one of the most sought-after sound engineers in the industry, used high-quality Nagra equipment for the detailed remastering. 2xHD, which he runs together with André Perry, founder of the famous “Le Studio” in Québec, enjoys an excellent reputation and has rightly acquired an exceptional status in the high-end world. Laflamme’s unique sound engineering skills are valued by many important players in the industry: for example, he represents and advises sound pioneers such as Nagra and Kronos Audio.
