Born in Kiev in 1907, the classical conductor Anatole Fistoulari was not only an outstanding interpreter of Tchaikovsky, the Russian School and French Romantic and Impressionist works, he also made a name for himself as a specialist in ballet music. This recording, released in 1960, includes excerpts from William Tell, Khovanshchina, Aida and Samson and Delilah.
The stirring recording of the Paris Conservatoire Orchestra under Fistoulari at La Maison de la Chimie in the French capital was made by Decca’s master sound engineer Kenneth Wilkinson. Willem Makee is responsible for the remastering for Analogue Productions.
We recommend the use of „L’Art du Son” CD/DVD conditioner for even more sonic improvement.
