Recorded in 1962 in front of an enthusiastic live audience, this album showcases Wes Montgomery at his best – no studio tricks, no second takes, just pure passion. His solos aren’t just long – they breathe, they soar, they seduce. You can almost hear the guitar blush. But wait a minute – Montgomery didn’t just bring his A-game, he brought his A-team: Johnny Griffin, aka “The Little Giant,” who plays his tenor saxophone with the ferocity of a caffeinated tornado. His solos in “Cariba” and “Blue ‘n’ Boogie” are not only impressive – they are downright volcanic. And then there’s the rhythm section: Jimmy Cobb (yes, that Jimmy Cobb from “Kind Of Blue”) on drums, Paul Chambers on bass, the number one timekeeper, and Wynton Kelly on piano, who comes up with an illegally smooth touch. As part of the “Analogue Productions Fantasy 45 Series”, “Full House” is now being honored with a sonically outstanding reissue, lovingly mastered by Kevin Gray and Steve Hoffman at Acoustech Mastering. The double LP, pressed on 180-gram vinyl by industry leader Quality Record Pressings (QRP) and cut at 45 RPM, comes in an old-style tip-on gatefold jacket from Stoughton Printing with a scuff-resistant, matte finish.
