Stan Getz / Joao Gilberto – Getz/Gilberto (SACD hibrid)

Following the huge success of the critically acclaimed and audiophile-praised Impex LP release of Stan Getz’s cultural milestone, we are now delighted to present “Getz/Gilberto” in ultimate hybrid SACD quality, featuring the two complete versions of the album for the first time: Bernie Grundman’s original analog tape Master-to-DSD version and a flawless new remastering by Jamie Howarth at Plangent Processes, which involved a complete digital restoration, repair of the original tape and correction of processing errors in the original master.

Few recordings capture the airy warmth and effortless sophistication of Brazilian bossa nova for an American jazz audience better than “Getz/Gilberto”. Even fewer recordings can reproduce its presence and immaculately intimate studio acoustics so faithfully. Impex’s hybrid SACD also includes Charles L. Granata’s fascinating essay, which contains memories of the album’s creation, the cultural phenomenon that followed, and Stan’s struggle with some pretty serious demons, as well as a 24-page booklet with rare studio, private and promotional photos.

We recommend the use of „L’Art du Son” CD/DVD conditioner for even more sonic improvement.
