Ry Cooder – Paris, Texas (Vinil 180g, LP dublu)

Few artists combine roots, soul, and pure musicality as effortlessly as Ry Cooder. A virtuoso guitarist, producer, and music historian, Cooder has long been revered for exposing the heart of American music. Released in 1985, Ry Cooder’s soundtrack to “Paris, Texas” combines slide guitar and minimalist music to reflect the emotional depth of the film, which deals with themes such as isolation and redemption. The iconic title track “Paris, Texas” helped the album earn critical acclaim and win the BAFTA for Best Film Music, among other awards. It has been more than four decades since the film won the Palme d’Or at its acclaimed premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in 1984. The film’s mysterious characters and desolate neo-western landscapes have lost none of their original fascination, thanks in large part to Ry Cooder’s iconic soundtrack – a masterpiece by the slide guitar virtuoso. Recorded in just three days, the music plays a central role in setting the mood and accompanies the postcard-perfect imagery of German director Wim Wenders.

As part of its “Acoustic Sounds 40 Series,” Analogue Productions is now celebrating this classic album with a collectible double LP: pressed on 180-gram vinyl by industry leader Quality Record Pressings (QRP), cut at 45 RPM and housed in a luxurious tip-on gatefold jacket by Stoughton Printing.
