Phil Woods and Donald Byrd – The Young Bloods [Mono] (SACD hibrid mono)

Alto saxophonist Phil Woods and trumpeter Donald Byrd shared the bandleader role on The Young Bloods in 1956. Woods contributed four of the six tracks and made repeated appearances with inspiring solos. Pianist Al Haig, bassist Teddy Kottick and drummer Charlie Persip complete the quintet with their stimulating playing. A must for any jazz collector.

The hybrid mono SACD appears in a mini-LP cover as part of a series of 50 reissues from the legendary Prestige label. There will be 25 mono and 25 stereo recordings. The mastering was done by Kevin Gray at his Cohearent Audio Studios.

We recommend the use of „L’Art du Son” CD/DVD conditioner for even more sonic improvement.
