Nathan Davis Sextet – Peace Treaty (Vinil 180g, LP)

Recorded on May 7, 1965 in the Parisian Studio de la Comédie des Champs-Elysées, this session for the small label „Societe Francaise de Production” is a masterpiece of saxophonist Nathan Davis, whose recording became a sought-after collector’s item at the time. Reissued by the French label „Sam Records”, the re-release now comes on the market more detailed and in great sound quality.

With Woody Shaw on trumpet, Jean-Louis Chautemps on baritone saxophone, Rene Urtreger on piano, Jimmy Woode on bass and Kenny Clarke on drums, the sextet plays a mixture of soul jazz and modal jazz. Enjoying the artistic freedom of ’60s Paris, the musicians ran grooving to their best form.

Cut by Kevin Gray, pressed on 180-gram vinyl by Optimal in Germany.

Facsimile reissue using the original photograph by Jean-Pierre Leloir. Double insert with original 1965 photo by Leloir.

We recommend the use of „L’Art du Son” LP cleaner to wet wash your vinyl. Even new records of high quality production will benefit from this.
