Lorin Maazel & The Cleveland Orchestra – Respighi: Pini di Roma/ Feste Romane (SACD hibrid)

The American conductor, violinist and composer Lorin Maazel has had many close encounters with the German classical music scene in the course of his multi-faceted career: as principal conductor of the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra (RSO), the Deutsche Oper Berlin and, in his later years, the Munich Philharmonic, to name but a few.

These recordings of Ottorino Respighi’s Pines of Rome and Roman Festivals, made in 1976 and 1979 at the Masonic Auditorium in Cleveland, date from his time as conductor of the Cleveland Orchestra.

We recommend the use of „L’Art du Son” CD/DVD conditioner for even more sonic improvement.
