Jimi Hendrix – People, Hell & Angels (SACD hibrid)

For the first time in high resolution: People, Hell & Angels, featuring twelve Hendrix tracks from the period 1968-1970, released posthumously in 2013, remastered for Analogue Productions by Bernie Grundman. People, Hell & Angels showcases Hendrix’s outstanding guitar playing outside of his work with the Hendrix Experience Trio.

By 1968, the Jimi Hendrix Experience had become the most sought-after live act, with two albums in the US Top 10, but Hendrix himself was growing restless and wanted to work behind the scenes, unnoticed by the public, with old friends and in new constellations to make his next musical statement. These twelve tracks encompass a variety of sounds and styles and feature Hendrix playing horns, keyboards, percussion and a second guitar – elements he wanted to incorporate into his new music before his death in 1970 at the age of 27.
