Jean Frye Sidwell – Portrait Vol. 2 (XRCD24)

The second compilation with recordings of jazz vocalist Jean Frey Sidwell deals with popular standards. However, it is already daring to speak of standards with titles like „Route 66”, because officially this is not even jazz and so could be seen for various other titles. But when this jazz musician and her team of top-class studio musicians, who all earn their living as independents, reinterpret the songs, then it becomes jazz.

The recordings date from 1996 to 2003 and were remastered at the JVC Mastering Center by Tohru Kotetsu. The XRCD sounds airy and carefree, allowing music to emerge freely in space.

We recommend the use of „L’Art du Son” CD/DVD conditioner for even more sonic improvement.
