Freddie Hubbard – First Light (Vinil 180g, LP)

REPRESSED

Freddie Hubbard was one of the most prolific trumpeters in the jazz industry, his blowing was hot and stylish at the same time! When he teamed up with George Benson, Jack DeJohnette and Ron Carter (to name a few) for this, one of many records produced by Creed Taylor, he deservedly won a Grammy! The first, title track „First Light,” begins ethereally and features a wide-ranging arrangement. Another unusual arrangement of Paul McCartney’s „Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey” is very compelling. Henry Mancini’s „Moment To Moment” has a beguilingly lovely sound. „Lonely Town” has a dark complexity. In this original compilation, versatility and manifold moods are found in each song. With its stylish jazzy rhythms and lush orchestrations, this is THE Freddie Hubbard album to have!

Freddie Hubbard (tp, fgh); (g); Richard Wyands (p); Hubert Laws (fl); Ron Carter (b); Phil Kraus (vib); Jack DeJohnette (dr); Airto Moreira (perc) und Streicher

We recommend the use of „L’Art du Son” LP cleaner to wet wash your vinyl. Even new records of high quality production will benefit from this.
