To mark its 10th anniversary, Chesky Records is releasing the very first vinyl edition of City Of The Sun’s acclaimed debut album, “To The Sun And All Cities In Between”. The genre-bending trio – comprising John Pita, Avi Snow, and Zach Para – which began its career busking in the subways and on the streets of New York City before taking the global stage by storm, achieved enormous commercial success with the album’s initial release, immediately reaching No. 12 on the Billboard Jazz Albums chart. The groundbreaking instrumental album subsequently became a coveted collector’s item. The monumental closing track “Everything” has already amassed over 23 million streams on Spotify.

With just two acoustic guitars, a percussion box, and bells, the extraordinary trio creates a captivating soundscape that amounts to a redefinition of acoustic music. City Of The Sun moves effortlessly between large-scale post-rock dynamics and modern ambient atmospheres, all the way to frenetic flamenco-style guitar playing and the syncopation of gypsy jazz. Recorded on December 16, 2015, at the historic Hirsch Center in Brooklyn, New York, this performance is considered the definitive highlight of the band’s early work.
