Booker Ervin – Exultation! (Vinil 180g, LP)

„Exultation!” was Booker Ervin’s debut on the Prestige label. The tenor saxophonist’s haunting playing combines on this album with Frank Strozier’s alto saxophone, Horace Parlan’s piano, Butch Warren’s bass and Walter Perkins’ drums. In addition to four inspiring original compositions by Ervin and drummer Walter Perkins, this session includes an interpretation of Fats Waller’s immortal „Black and Blue” and an exploration of the standard „Just in Time.” Both the latter and „No Land’s Man” are included in two versions.
