Ben Webster – Stardust (Vinil 200g, LP dublu)

The double LP „Stardust” contains a careful selection of Ben Webster recordings from 1964 to 1970. The US jazz scene changed dramatically in the 1960s under the influence of John Coltrane, and Webster found it increasingly difficult to make a living from his music. An offer to play for a month at Ronnie Scott’s London jazz club marked a turning point in his career: he settled in Northern Europe and spent the last years of his life there.

Webster’s playing is as passionate and intense as ever. In his beautiful, almost tender interpretations of ballads, he never succumbed to the temptation to increase the tempo, as was common at the time. As a result, he is considered one of the „warmest and most sensitive” performers (Barry Ulanov).

René Laflamme was responsible for the mastering on a pure tube chain.

We recommend the use of „L’Art du Son” LP cleaner to wet wash your vinyl. Even new records of high quality production will benefit from this.
