Anne Bisson – Guilty Pleasures (UHQCD)

Anne Bisson’s eighth album is finally available! “Guilty Pleasures” … The title says it all! Bisson didn’t limit herself when selecting the repertoire, choosing only songs that are close to her heart and have been part of her musical DNA since childhood. The result is a versatile and surprisingly refreshing album, completely acoustic, from “Wild Horses” (Rolling Stones) to Pink Floyd’s fantastic “Comfortably Numb” to Neil Young’s big hit “Harvest Moon” and “In The Ghetto,” one of her absolute favorite classics by the “King”! She gave “Autumn Leaves /Les Feuilles Mortes” a sensual touch by asking Canadian singer Bruno Pelletier to sing this touching love song with her as a duet. These two beautiful voices, heard together for the first time, will give listeners goosebumps!

Hailing from the province of Quebec, artist Anne Bisson has built up a loyal fan base in Europe and won numerous awards – and rightly so: the fascinating jazz chanteuse, who has undergone rigorous training in classical piano and singing, made a name for herself with audiences and the music media, particularly with her commercially successful album “Blue Mind.” Audiophile listeners also appreciate the exquisite sound quality of her releases.

“Guilty Pleasures” was recorded at Studio Opus and produced by Jacques Roy (“Tales From The Treetops”, “Bélanger & Bisson – Conversations”). Camillo’s UHQCD is based on Bernie Grundman’s excellent mastering for the limited One-Step LP version of the album.

UHQCD stands for Ultimate High Quality Compact Disc and is a joint development of the Japanese CD replication company Memory-Tech and the Audio Quality CD Company from Hong Kong. Unlike conventional CDs, UHQCDs are not pressed from polycarbonate, but cast from a photopolymer and cured with UV light. Another layer of high-purity polycarbonate is applied to the softer photopolymer for scratch protection. The combination results in significantly reduced reflection of laser light inside the CD and an unmatched precise edge transition between pits and lands of the CD. UHQCDs are 100% compatible with standard CD players. Musically, the result is a sound image strongly reminiscent of analog master tapes.
